Tuesday 22nd March 2022
Today for my professional development meeting I had a look at how to administer a Maths Jam as well as how to enter my assessment data into Etap. This was done by watching my teacher mentor do a maths jam with a student before completing a few by myself.
Tuesday 9th November
Today for my professional development meeting I had a look with my mentor teacher at setting up my professional blog and what I needed to put in my blog. We covered how to add different tabs and pages. Another aspect that we went over and discussed was how to sort out students' blogs and how to create posts. This was so that I could write up and post students work directly to their blog to show what they have been doing for their online learning.
Thursday 4th November
On Thursday I had a short phone meeting with my mentor teacher about Sunshine Classics and how to use the programme. We went over how to access the programme and how to assign work to individual students and groups of students.
Monday 1st November
Today for our professional development meeting we discussed and looked at the Beginning Teacher Year 1 programme booklet. I started my teaching career with one day inside the classroom last term (Term 3). Today I discussed with my mentor teacher that we would need to make some changes and amendments to the programme as we are still in Level 3 restrictions and are unable to go ahead and complete the following modules as we are not in the classroom. We also went over some of the programmes and what I would encounter next year as well as discussing how online learning was going as what I could perhaps try. Something that I took away from this was if I was going to read a longer book, I could read half one day and then read the rest the following day. This would help students as they would have to come back and see what happened at the end of the story the following day. Next week we are going to be looking at how to set up my professional blog by adding pages to the blog such as goal setting and meetings tabs. I will also be learning how to sort out students' blogs so that I can add their home learning work to their respective blogs.
